ABSENT MINDED READING WHILE

In our day to day clinical practice many guardians complain about their children of being absent minded during reading. It should be our task to treat them after a careful observation. Before treating we should acquire sufficient knowledge about cause of disease and adaptation of the child to the particular situation. We should give much importance to emotional plane of the patient.
Absent means not present. If we say mind is absent it will mean different .That mean mind is there but is not so active that it should be. It is not in a position to react actively and unaware to respond the surroundings even to ordinary demands. A person will consider as an absentminded if his mind is preoccupied temporarily and can return back to normal after a stimuli. So an absentminded person is neither an insane nor an imbecile.
Reading not only means to utter allowed a written or printed material but it takes account to interpret it by seeing or touching. While a person is reading a story book he is not bound to read it aloud or when an USV is reading it does not require any written or printed material except symbols and codes. So reading means communication of ideas after interpretation from letters, symbols, or codes
In our repertory there are seven remedies under the heading of Absentminded-reading, while. They are Agnus cast, Angustura vera, Baryta carb, Lachesis, Nux mos, Phos acid and Sulph iod.

He is oversensitive and touchy in nature. He is sensitive to criticism even to coffee. Actually coffee is such a thing which gives us small refreshment. The Study Of Repertory

Dr. Satyajit Dash

STUDY OF MENTAL RUBRICS

Study of Repertory is as important as of Materia Medica and Organon for clinical practice. Among the different section of Repertory study of mind section is very important. We have to individualize the medicines although there are many medicines under a single rubric. For example there are four remedies under the rubric Handled, being-aversion and they are Abrotanum, Cina, Nat mur and Sepia. Handled, being –aversion means these medicines do not like to guide or manage by others.  We have to know the different situations of above said remedies for which these are listed under this rubric.
Abrotanum---It is very difficult to handle an Abrotanum patient. He is irritable and obstinate like a child. As we know, a child does not want to understand the situation and behaves as he likes, Abrotanum behaves like a child due to softening of brain. His brain development is arrested. In other hand he is very sensitive to touch, dispose to contradict and very immoral in nature. He behaves very cruelly and likes to do something cruel to others. So he does not like to be handled by others.
Cina—Cina patients are difficult to quieten due to their capricious nature. He is independent minded. He wants others should do work as per his wishes. He is very obstinate and headstrong. He does not like to take help from others and even does not like to be carried. So he does not like to be handled by others as per their wishes.
Nat mur—Natrum mur patients have too much sense of duty. He is very proper on his work. He is very obstinate, haughty, and contemptuous. He does not like to be guided or instructed by others. He feels himself dignified and exclusive. Also, he is very secretive. He fears that if he will be guided by others his secret vices may open.
Sepia---Sepia does not like consolation and sympathy from others. After working for others sincerely when she gets no reciprocation, she remains indifferent to others and lies with eye closed. She rebels against poultice and averse to be handled by others.
From above discussion we can conclude that, Abrotanum is immoral, Cina is independent, Natrum mur is secretive and Sepia is indifferent in nature. So they do not like to be handled by others. Let us now discuss another rubric ABRUPT- ROUGH ,AFFECTIONATE YET.
ABRUPT –ROUGH, YET AFFECTIONATE
.
When we will open our Kent’s Repertory we will found a rubric Abrupt in the first page. In Synthetic Repertory there are two sub rubrics abrupt- harsh and abrupt- rough, yet affectionate. If we study it carefully it will alarm our mind that if a person is abrupt rough why he is so affectionate or if he is affectionate why he is abrupt.
Abrupt means all of a sudden. That means he does things or change one thing to other suddenly. By this abruptness other may feel inconvenience but it is not his aim to harm others. It gives the impression of being cut or broken of unexpectedly. In this rubric abrupt there are eleven polycrest remedy which generally come in our day to day practice. The medicines are calcaria carb, chamomilla, heper sulph, Lycopodium, natrum mur, Nux vomica, platina, pulsatilla, silicea, sulphur and tarentulla.
In this chapter we will study these common medicines in relation to abruptness

Introduction

It’s the mind of an individual that declares his uniqueness and separates him from others. It’s the mind that reacts differently at different situation even at the time of stress or illness. So it’s the mind that should be treated so as to cure the illness of the individual. Homoeopathy is one of the methods that give a healing touch to the mind to uproot the disease; be it acute or chronic. The nano particles of homoeopathic medicine create similar symptoms as the diseases during illness which helps in elimination of the disease permanently from the body of the individual.
After twenty five years of treating the patients including ten years of intense study of mental rubrics, I conclude that treatment of a patient can be possible exclusively depending upon the mental symptoms.
While patient is describing his physical complaints, he is also giving enough scope to the doctor to analyze his mental state. A good observer can understand it by observing his mode of entering the clinic, his appearance, his tone and style of talking and the description about his disease. While telling his symptoms, sometimes he takes a pause, becomes very excited, or even breaks down. His excitement or break down gives us much clue to study the patient which helps us individualize and make a correct prescription.

Besides this, in-depth knowledge on rubrics and remedies is essential for homoeopathic practice. So to study the essentials of Homoeopathy, I have brought to you a unique process for Redefining Homoeopathy.
